Resources

Supporting and serving citizens – we’ve compiled a list of resources that can help you with challenges you may be facing.

Money talks. How and where we spend our dollars has ripple effects through our economy, and buying local is one of the best ways to steer it in the right direction. Yet as I walk around NDG I see so many small businesses being forced to close. I’ll work hard to reverse that trend.

Today Quebec’s energy future remains uncertain. We need a plan to meet Quebec’s energy needs over the long term while also reducing emissions: energy that is not only clean, but green.

GOVERNMENTAL

Did you know Montreal has the lowest green space per capita of any city in Canada? We need to protect and expand green spaces everywhere, not only in urban areas but across our province. This is particularly true in the context of increasingly powerful and frequent weather events like wildfires and floods.

Managing your household’s finances can be difficult, especially when you can only access certain documents in certain languages. These resources can help:

Food insecurity has skyrocketed over the last two years due in large part to rising inflation. We know this because the community organizations that offer food services have seen a significant spike in demand in that same period, and I’ll continue to support those organizations in every way that I can.

COMMUNITY

I wholeheartedly support the protection and promotion of the French language. It is vital for Quebec. But contrary to what the current government likes to argue, we can achieve this without sacrificing fundamental rights and the values of inclusion, diversity and mutual respect.

Quebec is a diverse society, which is a major reason why so many of us choose to live here. But diversity is not the same as inclusion. Diversity is a fact; inclusion is a choice, a choice that governments have to either promote or oppress through social, economic and educational policies.

To be treated unfairly or discriminated against should never be something people feel they must simply accept, and I hope my constituents will explore the resources below or contact my office when they are faced with such circumstances.

I’ve made it a priority to work in close collaboration with my colleagues at the municipal level, as I believe it is vital that elected officials from all levels of government work together for their shared constituents.

As a woman and a mother, I’ve experienced firsthand the barriers that women often encounter when it comes to equal treatment and access to opportunity. As MNA I’ll continue to strive to empower the women of NDG and Montreal West in every way that I can.

I’m a strong believer in using public and active transit to get around. Whether it’s taking a bus or a BIXI bike, the metro or the train, NDG and Montreal West have a great many ways to get around without driving a car.

GOVERNMENT

It is essential not only to work in the interest of young people but to include them in decision-making. I applaud the establishment of a “Chair for generations” on the municipal council of the Côtes-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, and am planning to implement something similar at the provincial level.
